Wednesday, July 2

We were all braced for a long day today, because today was our longest hike of the trip, most of it dry. We did our usual morning routine, getting up early, and finally making it out of camp at eight. We arrived at Clarks Fork, a staffed "western" style camp, and our last water stop along the way at around eleven o'clock. After a long discussion we decided to eat dinner here and save lunch for the night in order preserve our precious water reserves for that evening. While cooking dinner, though, one of our scouts accidently kicked a pot of boiling water onto his foot. But after some (not so exper) first aid, and a quick sock change, he seemed to be OK. After a quick cleanup job, and with a little bit of encouragement from thunder, we were out of Clarks Fork by one.
